Grauer Figurative work

this Collection
As I age and age and age, I've become more interested in small figure paintings. They're a refreshing break after years of landscapes and I'm having a ball doing them... hope you enjoy them. Let me know if you like them, if you'd prefer more dancers, musicians. culturally oriented figures...tell me and I'll see if I can dig up the research for that particular image.
This 12x18 painting,"Conch blower greets the sunrise" is located on the breathtaking Hanalei Bay on the the garden isle of Kauai. The colors are sheer heaven for a painter. The Hawaiian lady (wahini) is greeting the sunrise using the conch shell. The eery sound of this shell was once a traditional communication devise in ancient Hawaii. Today, the culturally savvy Hawaiians are rediscovering the ways of their lost heritage that has been all but forgotten in the rush to embrace civilization. Aloha, Hawaii.
